Joseph H. Kimball, Jr.
CPA, MST, Partner
Joseph Kimball has provided tax advice and general
business counsel to closely held businesses and their
owners for more than 30 years. He began his career
with KPMG Peat Marwick and joined the firm in 1980. Today,
he heads the firm's tax department.
Joe is known for his sound guidance designed to help
clients grow their businesses through comprehensive
tax planning and careful utilization of resources. He
counsels business principals on how to coordinate their
strategic business plans with their personal financial,
estate and retirement objectives. Working closely with
family owned businesses on succession planning, he often
facilitates the resolution of internal disputes.
Throughout the years, he has been instrumental in helping
clients navigate the complexities of the Internal Revenue
Service audit and appeals process, assisting clients
achieve favorable resolutions of complex issues raised
in the IRS audit process.
Joe has lectured at tax seminars and addressed various
civic and business groups on the impact of new tax legislation
and sophisticated tax planning strategies. He is member
of the International Business Development Task Force
of the PKF North America and currently serves
on its international tax committee. He is a member of
the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants,
the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants,
and a former member of the University of Rhode Island
Tax Committee.
Committed to community service, Joe serves on the board of commissioners at the Narragansett Bay Commission. He is a member of
the board of directors of the Providence Children’s
Museum, and a member of the board of directors for the DD Independent Franchise Owners, Inc. Joe is also a member of
Hasbro Children's Hospital Gala committee and a member of the East Greenwich Lions Club.
Joe received his master of science degree in taxation
from Bentley College and has held faculty positions
in the MBA and MST programs at Bryant University. He
received a bachelor of science degree from Stonehill
College where he remains active in alumni affairs.
