Providence -- (November 14, 2007) -- The accounting firm of Sansiveri, Kimball & McNamee L.L.P., is pleased to announce the recent promotions of eight of its professional staff: Alyson Adkins, Michelle Freitas, Michael Garcia, Leah Albertini, Katie Hanson, Kevin Bickerstaff, Maureen McCurdy, and Michael Sheehan.

Alyson Adkins has been promoted to Manager. As a manager in the auditing and accounting practice group, Alyson provides audit, consulting and tax services to a wide variety of the firm’s clients in the not-for-profit, government and private industries, including those in the construction and hospitality sectors. She manages audit and review engagements for SKM’s Newport office. Alyson has also undertaken the training to meet the necessary requirements to conduct government audits. She handles federal and state tax planning and compliance issues for corporate, partnership, not-for-profit and individual tax clients.

As a 1998 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Alyson holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Rhode Island and is an active member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Alyson is active in her home town of Portsmouth in various church and volunteer efforts. She is the treasurer for her local Cub Scout pack and for the Portsmouth Youth Basketball League.

Michelle Freitas has been promoted to Supervisor. As a supervisor in SKMís Newport office, Michelle has more than nine years of accounting experience. She provides audits, review, and tax services to the firm’s clients in various industries including hospitality, manufacturing and non-profit.

As a 1996 graduate of Bryant University, Michelle holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting, magna cum laude. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Rhode Island and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants. Michelle is involved in her community and volunteers with her church in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

Michael Garcia has been promoted to Supervisor. As a supervisor in the auditing and accounting group, Mike has more than five years of accounting experience. He supervises the engagements of numerous clients in industries such as manufacturing, distribution, consulting, and hospitality. Mike assists clients in the implementation of accounting software and systems. He is also a member of SKM’s technology committee.

As a 2002 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Mike holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Rhode Island and currently pursuing his MBA at Bryant University. Mike is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a resident of West Warwick.

Leah Albertini has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the firm’s audit practice group. Leah provides audit, consulting and valuation services to a wide variety of the firm’s clients in private industry, including those in healthcare, distribution & franchise operations. Leah began her career at SKM as a staff accountant. A graduate from the University of Rhode Island, Leah received both a masters of science degree in accounting (2005) and a bachelor of science degree in accounting (2004).

She is a licensed CPA in the state of Rhode Island and a member of the American Institute of - Certified Public Accountants and the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants. Leah is a resident of Hudson, Massachusetts.

Katie Hanson has been promoted to Senior Accountant in the firm’s tax practice group. She provides tax and consulting services to a wide variety of the firm’s clients in private industry. She began her career at SKM as a staff accountant. A graduate from the University of Rhode Island, Katie received both a master of science degree in accounting (2005) and a bachelor of science degree in accounting (2004), summa cum laude. She is a resident of Warwick, Rhode Island.

Kevin Bickerstaff has been promoted to Senior Assistant Accountant in the firm’s auditing & accounting practice group. He provides audit and consulting services to a wide variety of the firm’s clients in private industry. Kevin was an intern for SKM in their Newport office for two tax seasons. As a 2006 graduate of Salve Regina, he earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting. Kevin resides in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Maureen McCurdy has been promoted to Senior Assistant Accountant in the firm’s Newport office. She provides tax and consulting services, as well as bookkeeping to a wide variety of the firm’s clients in private industry. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Maureen earned her bachelor of science degree. She resides in North Kingstown.

Michael Sheehan has been promoted to Senior Assistant Accountant in the firm’s auditing & accounting practice group. He provides audit and consulting services to a wide variety of the firmís clients in private industry. As a 2006 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, he earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting. He resides in West Warwick, Rhode Island.
